Statement by Principal, Kevin E. Forehand below:

Just as a musician receives a Grammy and an actor or actress receives an Oscar, the coveted National Blue Ribbon distinction is the highest award that is bestowed upon a school in this nation.  It is truly a historical honor to be the first National Blue Ribbon School in Gadsden County.  As a charter school comprised of all minorities and full of economically disadvantaged scholars, we have defied statistics by proving that we can achieve at nationally competitive levels. I still believe that it does not matter who you are, where you are from, or what conditions and difficulties families are faced with; high quality education is attainable by everyone.  Our entire community celebrates this recognition and Crossroad Academy is grateful to the community for allowing us to be a legitimate and viable source for education.  Our students, teachers, staff, and parents are among the best, brightest and most hardworking in the nation.  They are the ones who deserve all the applause.
